Women in Health IT will show their power at HIMSS17

Events tailored specifically for women health IT executives and professionals on tap this year include a networking reception, a Women in Health IT Awards Dinner, the opening keynote and education sessions.

Hundreds of women turned out for the inaugural Women in Health IT reception at Madame Tussauds’ place in Las Vegas during HIMSS16 last year.

We know what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. But there are noteworthy events lined up for women in Orlando when HIMSS kicks off on Feb. 19, 2017.  

Opening keynote address 
IBM CEO Ginni Rometty is known for supporting women in their careers and highlighting their achievements at IBM. She was appointed President and CEO effective January 1, 2012 and then became Chairman on October 1, 2012. Rometty began her career with IBM in 1981 in Detroit, Michigan. Since then she has held a series of leadership positions in IBM, most recently as Senior Vice President and Group Executive, IBM Sales, Marketing and Strategy.

Shattering the Glass Ceiling: Lessons Learned for Aspiring Female Executives 
Leading experts will discuss advancement strategies for female executives looking to excel in the health information technology field.

Gender Disparities in the Compensation of Health IT Workers 
Denise Hines and Lorren Pettit will discuss the historical compensation disparities between male and female health IT workers as revealed in the HIMSS Compensation Survey findings.
