Lorraine Lutton first woman to lead Roper St. Francis Healthcare

She succeeds David Dunlap as President and CEO of the South Carolina health system.

Lorraine Lutton has taken the reins as president and CEO of Roper St. Francis Healthcare in Charleston, S.C.

Lutton is the first woman in the top position at the health system, which operates five locations across the state.

Prior to joining Roper St. Francis, Lutton served as president of Tampa, Fla.-based St. Joseph's Hospital, a part of BayCare Health System in Tampa. She was employed with BayCare Health System for 24 years.

At Roper St. Francis, Lutton succeeds David Dunlap who announced in February he would retire after a 45-year career in healthcare, having served the past 13 years as president and CEO of Roper St. Francis. 

Her first day on the job was November 14.
