ePatientFinder raises $8 million to advance cloud-based Clinical Trial Exchange platform
ePatientFinder raised $8.2 million to build out its Clinical Trial Exchange platform.
The EHR agnostic cloud-based service enables doctors to locate new treatment options, preventative procedures and clinical trials for their patients. What’s more, Clinical Trial Exchange’s analytics capabilities and what the company described as a three-tier filtering process help physicians understand which options are best and how each might benefit a particular patient.
Clinical Trial Exchange also enables life-science companies – including several pharmaceutical, medical device and contract research organization clients – with a network of physicians within clinics, hospitals and accountable care organizations who identify and refer patients for potential clinical trial enrollment.

ePatient Finder has partnered with electronic health records vendors Greenway and Practice Fusion since launching the platform in October of 2014. The startup plans to use the new funding to scale its platform and add additional healthcare providers and EHR partners to the exchange to grow the referring provider network.
ePatientFinder CEO and co-founder Tom Dorsett said that by increasing awareness of clinical trials so more eligible patients can be enrolled more quickly, providers and life sciences companies can accelerate the clinical trials process and potentially save millions of dollars in recruitment costs that can instead be used to further drug development and research.
ePatientFinder did not reveal the names of the investors.
